MY TRAVEL BACKGROUND
I caught the travel bug on a family holiday to the USA as a teenager in the 1980's. This trip inspired me to study a 6-month Diploma of Travel after finishing school and whilst I eventually worked in an unrelated field, my desire for travel remained.
My earliest ventures overseas were as a single traveller on fully escorted tours to South Africa, the UK and Europe whilst following the Australian cricket team.
The growth of the internet, combined with an increased confidence and a desire for independent travel resulted in many self-organised and self guided family holidays. Destinations included the USA, UK, Japan, Singapore, Fiji, Hong Kong and cruising the Hawaiian islands.
Researching of destinations and constructing logical and interesting itineraries became a passion. From this passion, organising and leading small touring groups to Hong Kong and New Zealand eventuated.
The concept of a home-based travel agent came to my attention in early 2020. I undertook a Certificate III in Travel to update my skills in the travel industry and signed on as an agent of Your Travel & Cruise to start my own business, Extra Mile Travel Planning.
Whether you are 'time choosy' or 'time poor', I believe that I have an extensive and wide variety of travel experiences and would welcome assisting you in turning your dream holiday into reality.
